FAQ's

What should I wear for Headshots?

Think about the type of person you want to portray and dress accordingly: When a casting director looks at your headshot, instantly they will make a judgment on your character and everything about you purely from that image. Your headshots should quickly sell who you are (or want to be). Prior to our session we will discuss your requirements and what looks you want to achieve.

For headshots, a plain top is best - avoid stripes, heavy patterns or logos. Soft pastel colours work very well. You want your clothes to compliment and reinforce your style, not detract or draw attention away from you. You want your face to be remembered, not your clothes. In general, bring several different options - different neck lines, colours etc.

Remove tight jewellery in plenty of time before the shoot. It does not look good in headshots and also tight jewellery can leave marks on the skin which are hard to edit out.

What should I wear for Dance shots?

Similar to headshots, a casting director will be making an instant judgement on your style - Classical, Musical Theater/Jazz, Urban. Dress for your dance style. Bring dance wear which you are comfortable in and shows off your form, preferably not black as it tends to disappear into the background. It is advisable to bring a selection so that we can mix things up a bit or in case one outfit does not work well. Please also bring a selection of shoes including pointe shoes if you wish/required. Feel free to bring any other clothes or additions which you think are appropriate to your style e.g a tutu for classical ballet etc.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in wonderful Brighton, East Sussex, UK. I can also travel if there is a specific location you would like to use. If you would liket me to photograph your story outside of the Brighton area, it will probably require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place.

How long will a session last?

The session times shown in the pricing list are rough guides as to what you can expect for the different sessions. However, the primary objective is to produce a set of images which we can both be proud of. Sometimes this will be achieved quicker than expected, but other times it may take a little longer - everyone is different when in front of a camera. I believe that getting it right is more important than how long it takes.

How many images will I receive?

This depends on which session you choose. Please see details above on the different packages available.

When will I get the images?

Within a day or two of the shoot, you will receive a link to your own private, password protected, online client gallery containing the raw "straight-out-of-camera" images. From here, you will select your favourite images for me to then edit. Depending on how many you choose for editing, you'll receive your final fully edited images within a few days of finalising your selection. You can then download and share your edited images from the gallery in various sizes, such as being resized for web/social media use or in larger high resolutions.
